No matter how small you write RobertO, we can still see 'by ROR'!!-- is it just me or did that 'by ror' get smaller after someone pointed it out a while ago? :D

I wasn't too sure what to make of this topic.
So I ended up starting photoshop plus some loud music and drew what came to my mind.
I hope thats not too wrong.

Well there has been some Lord of the rings inspiration, cause I watched my dvd before I drew this. :D But I didnt think of any specific scene or character, so just some random fantasy stuff.

Enough of the talk, here is my sketch:

had no idea what to do, so i just started doodling and let the "freeflowness" take over, came up with this landscape thing (i had some forest fires n stuff, but i took em out cuz they were kinda crappy), took about one hour in ps

Ah hah!!! So "freeflow" = painting..randomness that pops into your head? *logs that word away for future use* Maybe I'll have a go at it tomorrow. (It'll most likely have many, many eyes in it...I love eyes... )

I didn't know what "freeflow" ment but Gekido said: Ah hah!!! So "freeflow" = painting, so I made a fantasy drawing whith a paint brush: http://img140.exs.cx/img140/1599/fantasiekinderverftekenig0or.jpg(13 min-photoshop)

Hi there! Fun topic, isn't it? Thanks for the level up award btw Roberto, i knew my bribe would work...:D it's quite encouraging isn't it!
doomdragon, it's kind of hard to tell what the waterfall is but i like the colour choices! Thebigxr...I like the 3 eyed alien, that would be really cool with a bit more shading and it'd definitely be a good developed character....
zombiefrog, i like the atmosphere but you could put something at the right hand side because both of the main lines slope off the page and lead to that one area...something there would put your attention back on the page!
Fridayeve, definitely a fun looking one!i like the dog and the king in the 'background'- you are quite an inspiring fella aren't you....
Augustus, that head candle holder one is really unsettling! I'm not sure why...?
Coco, i like the colours and texture of the cloth but maybe you could try to separate the woman from the backgrounda bit more? Unless she's meant to be a spirit or something..:D Dekuboy--a bit of shading wouldn't hurt!
Taron, welcome back, long time no see...but i sure like that one! Great atmosphere, i love the little tree in the foreground and just gen. overall really good stuff! That one is getting my vote for this DS.
This picture came after following a bubble tutorial somewhere here on CGtalk...i think it was the shark picture...hope you like it! I'm not sure what it is but it was fun...http://picserver.org/view_image.php/8Z02E1G0PQM6/p.jpeg

Oh my god, Taron, I love the most far tree at the background! Thank you, Sir! :D It turned out kind of surprisingly good, using some wicked brushes in Photoshop and simply give it a very broad lighting....really helped to have painted the branches with a bit of attention, because the wicked funny leaf hangers work even while they are super quick and sloppy strokes.

It all happened so quick, I kinda have to look at it myself again, funny actually...

And thank you, paperclip, too! I bet there will be a bunch of more entrees, so hold on with your promisses there... hihi! :wise:

Thanks for your input. Actually my idea was that the women is drawing her own world and herself in her own world... btw. what cloth? :D that's also a reason why I didn't add more detail, didn't want to make something pornographic...

The red & yellow ribbon- it looks like she's waving it over the sky and holding it at the bottom! Taron-- wait and see! Drawmonger, this is one of your best sketches yet, i think it turned out really well, you are getting the level up from me this week!

coCoKNIght
12-27-2004, 01:51 PM
 that's sad 'cause actually she's drawing with her hands...

I think it's because her hand looks like it's holding something ?

12-27-2004, 02:25 PM
Ok, so this is what you call drawing freeflow. Well I didn't get it to wrong, because I felt like drawing that. :D

doomdragon, it's kind of hard to tell what the waterfall is but i like the colour choices! You're right I should have paid more attention to the waterfall, the main fall is on the top and then there is a little fall cracking through the rocks joining the big one.
Well thats what should be there.
Oh and I forgot the splashing and spraying water and the rocks between it. :hmm:

12-27-2004, 04:23 PM
Do bear in mind that the further the water falls the more mist will be created. I.E don't make tiny little waterfalls have big mist clouds! One more little crit- the shoulders of your man/hobbit look rather big for his size, unless he's wearing big shoulder pads (to make him look more manly?):D . Apart from that, you are definitely going in the right direction. If you have any crits for my work, feel free to be brutally honest- i like it!

Hi Taron, nice to see you and your excellent work back here!

I love those bubbles paperclip.

Actually this was a fun free sketch and everything looks fun and relaxed. too bad I didn't have time... I've been swamped between work and sewing projects for the holidays. Maybe I'll get a little more time this week. Sure hope so!

Photoshop 4hrs

This was just a fun fantasy image. No references to speak of. I just started drawing, and this is the result.

oh no! does she look like she has got a goatee. (I may have to fix that!)

Great topic - totally open and fun!

*******************************************************
Doomdragon - nice strong composition

thebigxer - so is the central figure imagining the little creatures?

ZombieFrog - nice expressive landscape - lots of energy

FridayEve - good (as usual) - very funky drawing!

augustus - lol - is that an agent trying to hook some singing talent.

coCoKNIght - good feel in the drawing

DekuBoy - I just love this piece! Bright and fanciful, but graphically authoritive - good job

Taron333 - wow what a great illustration! You guys who can pull of these great works in such a short timeframe amaze me!

drawMonger - this guy looks really happy: its great to see some optimism! (maybe 2005 will be a better year!)

paperclip - the little guy? in the bottom looks like an underwater stargazer. The image has a really nice mood to it.

DMageXVII - the head tilt seems correct - keep it up!
