I have problems with the modelling of details. I really don't know, how i should do that. I am modelling a helicopter. The problems start with the hull: I am able to do the rough form. But i have no clue, how i should do the windows and the other details.
Maybe one of you pros can give me a tip?

just make some cuts where you want the window to be, and then extrude and chamfer

just make some cuts where you want the window to be, and then extrude and chamferExactly! Just be sure to be carful. More cuts mean more potential for detail, but don't overdo it. Same with chamfer, too much makes a dissasterous mesh.

Can you give me a hint, what do you mean with chamfer? I use C4D, there is much, but no chamfer (e.g. bevel, extrude).
I did the following: I cut a hole and beveled and extruded the edges and closed the hole at the end. But the mesh suffers...
Maybe somebody can show me, how this can be done in a proper way!? You'll find a obj here: Model (http://www.punkvideos2.com/bilder/hub.rar) I'm really interested in this!!
