this a fast hover_car concept i have done, spend about 4 hours on it from thumbnails to finish,

i had no intention of hand this in for this contest, but
when i looked at it again,it can be nice theme for future vehicles

note_you have to click on the actual image again to see the true colors.

I add my local colors and some lighting to it so i can guide the eye to where i want.

in this case the round inter_section for space cars in the middle, witch is my primary centre of interest.

I am still establishing local colors,
and also adding my artificial light, and also some natural light color suggestion here and there.

Great! Starting to look very good. However, I have a bit difficulty finding out what is going on. It's a shame you didn't get much comments, because your work will surely look awesome in the end.

I think your previous post with the darker foreground elements looked a bit simpler, and really framed what was going on. I think you lost some of that in your last post. Perhaps you could darken that mist layeer below.

Very Ryan-Church-like...congrats!

Yeap, he`s right it`s a shame, you`ve got great skill. Nothing really usefull to add as commentary, just good luck!

Andreas, I think he didn't get comments 'cause he only posted this several hours ago! :-)

anyhow, Boalid, it's looking nice. I like your architecture and sense of color a lot. That being said, Andreas has some good points. When I look at this piece, my eye has trouble focusing on anything. There's no one obvious center of attention so it's not clear where you want the viewer to concentrate. What kind of story or situation are you trying to convey?
Best of luck with it!

This would make an excellent background for an animated/ live action sci-fi feature. I really love the ambience of the scene, and the architectural depth of the composition. Very nice, cant wait to see more definition, and the overall final piece.

Id propably go with golden theme.

But there should be more partial depth i think that some of the mist and coloring are sort of crowded in certain areas. Not sure thought.

Enhance light and shapes :)

Good luck and happy new year! :bounce:

I like the top one of these last four color studies. I agree that a bit more atmospheric perspective could be used. Overall, outstanding work

It's a bit hard to decide which color scheme is best suited for your composition because I don't know what exactly you want the viewer to feel when one is looking at it. Your composition is nicely constructed and looks dynamic but as the others have said it's hard to focus on something. So, i'll give you my impressions on the 4 color schemes.

Color Scheme 01:
This color scheme is a bit confusing to me as it makes it difficult to focus on something. Maybe some darker and lighter (i.e more contrast) is required at some places...

Color Scheme 02:
This conveys a bit of a fantasy theme and it gives the impression that there is quite a cold and calm atmosphere around.

Color Scheme 03:
This gives the impression of a modernised ancient city. It's like blending ancient egypt with modern technology! I would say it is a good thing to bring the ancient and modernism together, but it depends on your story.

Color Scheme 04:
This has an underwater feel to it. It seems to me like it is a submerged city under the sea.

Well these are my impressions! I hope they can help you! I really look forward to see the progress of your piece! Keep up with the good work! :bounce:

and also posted some color variation
,i like all three, but i have to go with one, tell me what you think
,also want to add some spasce ship to it,
heading toward the big round shape thing in the right hand site,

Often putting in place lots of different colours can be an overkill but what you have done balance and blends in very well. Keep up the good work.

Hi there! Just stopping by, saying that I really like ur work. The colors r great and all the "mess" that is created with the architecture gives a nice composition. Only thing that I think doesnt fit into the pic right now, is the lower center ship that is coming into the pic. I disturbes the viewers attention from more important things.
Good luck with the finish!

Hi I really like your work. It seems to say so much without even having to speak.

I am just stating my image. I have been thinking about buying a tablet but am torn
between my tradition art skills and the computer. I was thinking of drawing my
image in sections on paper, then doing a seperate shaded render and then compositing
and colring it all using the computer.

Do you have any advice you could give me...

Cheers

Nice color scheme! Atmosphere looks airy even with all these colors you can still understand the structure of the city! I agree with the others that you've really balanced the colors well. :)

I think perhaps at this point you shouldn't do too much else, Many of my art teachers used to say, sometimes it is knowing when to stop - your piece has so much in the way of detail, WOW. I like the color scheme you have chosen, and I am sorry I wasn't around sooner to do critiques with people in the earlier stages.... Great job, you really have chosen well and done well by your work.
