This is actually for a Doom 3 mod, but I think it's a PS issue that I'm running into, so I would love some help.

I am making an image in the shape of a book. In the corner is a folded curl that acts as a "next" button when a player is reading the book, allowing them to turn the page.

I'm having a problem with the transparency, though. I've created the pagecurl image
separately, and have used a variety of methods to create a selection of only that image. I then save the selection, which creates an alpha channel. I save this image as a .tga file (32 bits).

The transparency works fine, but it leaves a thin, light coloured border around the edge (see image). It's as if the selection tool is on a 1px feather or something, even though it's set to 0.

Any ideas how to get rid of this?

it looks like when you made the image that you may have had a object selected and moved the image. I would just reopen the artwork, make a fine selection around the border and select the alpha channel and add the selection to the alpha channel.
