Here is a Hockey Player that I am currently working on. I haven't really worked on the face texture or the helmet but most of the rest of the character is built.

I am experimenting with building the understructure of the player (Shirt and pads) and then adding a cloth jersey overtop. This way when I finally get to skinning the character and animating him the jersey will move realistically.

The player is relatively low in polygons but the Stanley Cup is high poly. I will make a low poly version of the Stanley Cup soon.

I quickly mocked up textures for the old Quebec Nordiques and Winnipeg Jets uniforms from 1995.

you come from canada? Why did you model an espoo blues player, that is a finnish the where I was playing few years ago...

This looks very very cool, the textrures are awesome!

the trousers they look kind of wierd to me, they are too small I think.. same is with the kneepads... most players play with the pads over the skates... so they are longer

keep us up to date on your progress

Nice work! It is great to see those jerseys again (or any jersey's for that matter...) Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback

I will do a test with the socks overlapping the skates to see how it looks. I should also add tape to the socks as well.

Cheers

ok i played hockey for 14 years so i'm gonna get a little detailed on ya. it's commin along nice so far but my big problem lies within the texture of the jersey. the folds aren't really falling where they need to. really take a look at real players and look at where the jersey pinches around their body because of the pads underneath. the folds should mostly come from the areas where the jersey needs to go overtop of the pads. also he would appear to not be wearing elbow pads. any reason for that?

Thanks for the feedback,

I will add the elbow pads. As for the wrinkle patterns I have been adding them where the pads are. Could you go into more detail to help me out.

Merry Christmas

mostly what i mean by it is that the pads push the jersey out. now i was a goalie so i know more about the bigger goalie pads than i do normal players pads. but where the pads push the jersey out there would be wrinkles around the edges of the pads that stand out pretty bad because of the fabric draping off of the edge of the pad

edit: Merry christmas to you to! :)

Hi, Its a very good model and textures looks great too...I agree with tomaa you should make the bottoms of the pads near the skates a little bit larger..But its looking very cool ...etn en passant Joyeux Noel
