View Full Version : gpu fan won't restart after coming out of hibernate

I recently noticed some texture corruption when doing gpu intesive tasks on my quadro 980 xgl. I traced the problem down the gpu overheating because the fan was not working. After tinkering with it for a while I discovered that the fan on the gpu's heatsink is not starting when I bring my computer out of hibernate. When I called PNY, they told me "too bad" and that "it must not be the card's fault". I have not changed anything, so I'm not sure why this just started happening. Any ideas?

Hmm, even coming out of sleep the fan won't come back on. However, it does kick in for about one or two seconds right when it the comp. starts back up. It must be a windows xp problem, but I cannot figure out what!
