dahiya, actually, they are hit with the hammer in the head to lose their consciousness, it happens quickly so they don't suffer. and that way it doesn't hurt them when they are roasted. (and they don't jump around in the pan)

and tommy, the caustics are faked with projector maps in two spot lights, the render is scanline.

no im not a greenpeace activist, but i so care for animals. half my family are. LOL. but you've gotta agree, its a bit cruel to be put to half-death with a knock on the head and then toasted.

but now since this is my third post in this thread, i should say something about your pic.

judging by the colors on your fish, youre not very loving towards them are you? :D

you've got a nice quasi stop-motion image here. with the puppy-fish and his thermocol eyes. and the water that looks....not really like water, but its great in context. i think you could do better with polishing the style and making the tiles a little less reflective and not so even edged and the faucet and knobs a little less metallic.

....perhaps if you increase the size of the tiles, you could make the scale a little more exaggerated.

personally, me nor my family doesn't do this with the fish, but it's a fact that it's a tradition.
and I don't think it's so much more cruel than killing cows or chickens and eating them. humans are carnivores finally.

thanks for the comments. I'm not going to return to this scene though, it's finished. but I'll remember the tips when I'll do my next scene.
