Cosmic Fool 09-02-2002, 10:54 PM Hey all,
For the past few days I've been working on this image for an art contest held by a band called Powerman 5000.
http://www.shinynewmachine.com/maxforums/PM5K.jpg
I found out about the contest a little late, so I didn't have a whole lot of time to get everything done that I wanted to. I know the background is a little lacking, but then again, so are my Paintshop skills ;)
Modelled with 3D Studio MAX 3.1
Rendered using scanline.
Anyway, any crits and comments are welcomed.

mwa, the model looks looks pretty complex but the rendering is way too....simple. I can't even figure out what I'm looking at. Maybe it's just me.....:hmm:
The background and the green "flames ?" look weird.
and the render could surely be remade to make it all look better.
The model doesn't look bad.

Well it does not quite apeal to me. However, if this is for a punk band then I guess it fits right in.
I like the model. I would give him a more dramatic pose and re-render it though.

Not quite punk ;)
Powerman 5000 is a heavy metal band which I like not too bad, kinda like the render.
I love the model, it's really wicked but the overall composition is somewhat lacking. It would probably turn out better with a simpler background and if the guy had a big-ass gun.
But seeing as how this is a finished work forum, ignore my crits ;)
Nicely done

Thanks for the comments, as I said before, I was pressed for time so I had to rush a lot of things. This image was actually submitted 2 hours before the deadline. ;)
The "flames" are actually his hair. I'll try out a few new poses and see what I can come up with.
