Well, I don't have a picture of the drawing, but I think I can describe it pretty well from memory.

-The artists name starts with an "R" and I think "Ro" I remember relating the name with Rockwell, although his style is not the same.

-From what I can tell, it looks like it depicts some kind of plague in an English town, during the 18th century.

-There's an evil looking guy on the left side about 1/3 the way up the drawing.

-There's a little kid falling out of a woman's hands that was breast feeding the kid. They are located on a small flight of steps in the center of the drawing near the bottom.

-There is a casket in the center with some people crouching around it.

-Other than the main people that I mentioned, there are dead people all over the painting, and some live people. They are all drinking out of old looking cups.

-All of this is happening in what looks to be the middle of a town, with storefronts on each side. There are lots of large buildings in the background. There is also pretty promenent on the left side, one of those black steal cross looking things with the balls on the ends (don't remember what they're called, but I think they're like street signs, but shapes so people that can't read can still decipher them).

That's about all I can think of (and probably all you want to read). I need to know what artist it is, so I can write about it for an assignment that's do tomarrow (yeah, I always wait 'till the last minute). Hope you can help!

Sounds like "Beer Alley, Gin Lane" by Hogarth to me:

Found this image by typing "hogarth gin" into Google images, this was result no.2 ;)

[edit] I just thought I would add a bit about this etching: Hogarth was a moralist and most of his work has a strong social message. The story behind this etching is that drink in moderation is fine (this is depicted in Beer Alley, the companion piece where healthy people happily drink beer), but spirits in excess are bad. The people here are not suffering from a plague but are all drunk on gin!!

Thanks alot! That's it. We actually have to do a comparison between that piece and the other one that you mentioned.
