View Full Version : Finally Diffracted caustics!

In terms of Cg diffracted caustics and esp volumetric diffracted caustics have been somewhat of a holy grail for me. I've always wanted to do a cg version of the cover of "Dark Side of the moon" Now thanks to the l_gem shader by Steinar Birkelund this dream may be realized.

Here is a initial test

As you can see, i'll need to up the sampling rate on the caustics a bit. The render log said this took ~30min on my 2.0ghz Opteron 246 1gig of ram so i dont think this is production ready, also the shader comes with no documentation

Oh it's ok, I wasn't saying you shouldn't have started a new thread. It was just a chance to selfishly show off my two images.
