I'm trying to create a decent blending brush in Photoshop CS similar to Painter. I only have access to Photoshop right now. What tool works best along with what brush settings? Many thanks in advance!

for a blending brush I use a soft round brush set to 5-10 spacing usually. It works for me.
not sure if thats what your looking for.

I got this tip for blending from Don Seegmiller's book "Digital Character Design and Painting: The Photoshop CS Edition". Create a 256 x 256 pixel white background page. Select all > define pattern. The select the patch tool the one with the bandaid > select pattern. Find and select the pattern you created. Use that to blend, I use his method to blend in combination with a low opacity brush.
