@MichaelMotion: aww cute Ufo. Really nice. But why do you always post a link to that .cfm file and Roberto has to edit the picture in? :D
That file seems not to work with all browsers (like my firefox).

@Cageron: Thats really a nice car for painting it with a mouse, only the legs(?) inside are looking a bit flat.

So here is my try. I did it with colors only, without sketching before this time to see how this will work out for me :)

Haven't posted in a while, mainly because I have no time, and, honestly, because it requires guts to post my kind of stuff here when I see the general quality of these threads, but every once in a while, I find some time, realise I'm a complete n00b so it's kinda normal that I can even start to think about mesuring up with people like fridayeve, vitriolic, goro, taron, etc... and I suddenly feel enough courage to dare post.

Unluckily for you, this is such a day, muhahaha ! :)

I sincerely hope I'll make some progress soon as I really feel ashamed when posting such stuff.

Here's my vision of Santa's new sleigh :

I'll try to do better next time (unfortunatly, as if being a complete beginner wasn't enough, I usually do not have more than 1h or 2h per day to practice).

http://www.k-squared.com/sleigh.jpg

Finally took a break from madly getting stuff together for Christmas - about 1 hr Ps/Wacom.
Some really great sketches are showing up here lately and I haven't had a chance to comment on most of them.
Aghill - similar idea to mine.
Baramin - great idea, love it!
Drumwhore - EXCELLENT! Welcome back, haven't seen you in a while. Santa's ride there kind of reminds me of my jetcar from a few sketches back. Love the shark! AWESOME!
DoInferno - HA! Another bad Santa with shades on! :)
doomdragon - really like that one!
cageron - where can I get a sleigh like that one? :)
MichaelMotion - love the UFO idea - really like the peppermint stripe on top too!

Hey Baramim, keep on posting and you will get better all the time! Donīt let the amazing works of those other guys stop you, letīem encorage you!

Aghill, i liked the shadowns very much. Loved the way you gave dept (or deep, bad english, you known?) to the caracter.

Vitriolic, very nice design and rendering!

Robinayles, has the red light in front of the sleigh something to do with Rudolf? Very interesting...

here's mine. i thought it would be kinda cool of Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top was santa, and one of his awesome hot rods was the new sleigh... not very happy with the way he turned out, but i like the sleigh. done in about 5-6 hours in photoshop.

Nice job paperclip!
Santa and his reindeers could use the same level of detail as the city tho.
Forget the clock ;)

Funny stuff guys!

Hi Art2, thanks for the kind comments! I updated my pic but there are definitely bits I need to work on, do you have any suggestions? I like the blown up santa btw, especially like the effect of light reflecting off the brush strokes. Keep up the good work!

Art2

hey paperclip, nice update.
You could give Santa a bit of volume, his clothes are just flat black.
And it's a shame you left out the reindeers. But you could leave it this way by adding a
jet-engine to his sleigh... that should explain why he's able to pull such weight ;)
