View Full Version : Chamfer Units help!!!
TYLER69 12-21-2004, 12:12 PM Hi
I know this is probably really basic but i could do with some help on this. I have imported a model into max and i am trying to chamfer an edge. Basically even the lowest increments are too big (0.01) for what i need. I scaled the model up but it does not alter the physical size of the chamfer. Can someone give me any pointers on what to do. Thanks in advance.

you have a units problem.
reimport the model using the same units as the model you are importing.
example: if the model you want in max is in feet then change max's units to feet then make sure that one unit equals one foot. then import your file.

Hi Leonec
i am importing an fbx and i have no idea what units it was set up. I guess i'll run through all the options and see which works.
Thanks for your help.

Try scaling the model up, then perform a reset xform in the utilities panel, and see if that helps the problem.

or try going to sub-object element mode, select all, and scale from there..
