I love free stuff, it's often better and more fun than paid for apps. Here's one of my favourite freebies which is great for making displacement maps for terrains.

I tried Dogwaffle a few months back, it was cool but still pretty buggy. I guess it's time to give it another try.

I don't do enough audio stuff to warrant paying a few hundred bucks for one, so Audacity is pretty handy for capturing vocal tracks and editing them together.

the programmer for dogwaffle is a lightwave artist.
he used to work with me at foundation imaging. =)
