Is there any muscle deformer for maya, like the Absolute Character Tools for max?

Yes and no... this has ben covered a few times wth wery brilliant insights on the www.highend3d.com board. Try searchig their forums if you can reah their server which I am currently unable to do!

The uderlying idea is that maya does offer yiu all the tools you need for this... But you need to figure out how to use them yourself. While this souds like a limitted option it is actualy by faar much more flexible, sice it allows you to replicate much more various tasks.

So you should cosider combining wrap deformers wit driven keys (altough it is tricky since you need to animate both the source and tha target wrap shape for skin slifding effects). alternatively you could use laticces or sculpt deformers or even beytter combination of multiple methods but its getting real hard to explain.

I made a muscle system with MEL using this research paper: http://www.accad.ohio-state.edu/~smay/Human/human.pdf so far I have only implemented the fusiform model. I am currently experimenting with dynamics for implementation, so far it looks promising, I had been using the muscles as influence objects, and it works for some cases but doesn't always give the effect I am looking for.
