View Full Version : Mental Ray Batch Troubles

I'm having problems with mental ray in maya 6.01. When i render a still in the render window it comes out fine but as soon as i try to use the batch renderer to render a single frame or an animation it seems to automatically switch back to using the Maya Software renderer, even though the script editor idsplays the message "Starting Mental Ray Renderer..." No error is returned but when you look at the images produced it is clear that they are not MR. This happens in all my scene files not just one.
Does anyone have any idea why this is. Any halp would be greatly apprieciated. Thakyou.

you may want to use your command prompt to batch render. There you can specify your renderer with your flags render -r mr. use render -r mr -help for more options or check the docs. You may also want to set your preferences to default to the mental ray renderer instead of maya software.
