For me, works with IE, doesn't with Firefox (displays plain HTML/javascript). I'm no http guru, but it seems to me the web site is sending it as text/plain instead of text/html or something like that.

Ah ha ha. That's terrific. I especially love the Gondor t-shirt. Though I suppose an elf would be wearing a Gondolin t-shirt.

Ack! I've revealed my extreme nerdiness!!!

Well, I got this thing about 1/3 colored, and... I knew it would take me longer than I have tonight, so I just did away with colors 'n such and left it as my 5 min sketch.

Thanks for the tutorial typer thinger FridayEve! It's simliar to how I already try to do things, but I think you did it a lil better. I'll be trying it out, for sure.

-"yes, we need directions from Minus Morgul to Mt. Doom and could you make sure that you keep us clear of Sauron's castle."
-"certainly Mr. Frodo..."

These are just so funny I had to do one. Vitriolic, that is just great. I think that paperclip has found the perfect symbol for a modern day sauron, although I was thinking that a Walmart sign might be just as appropriate :) Good stuff everyone.

You guys do know that 2004 is not the future?
It's going to be past in about a week and a half.
So how come you draw such things that maybe would be in the future?

:wip:

Or maybe i'm a moron and don't get the topic here today.

as a matter of fact; 2004 is history in middle earth. It's been 2004 twice (in the first and second era of the sun). :D

hmm...perhaps - but it could be 2004 of the third era...this one being counted from
the time Frodo destroyed the ring. :)

Doncha just LOVE LOTR nerds?
I don't have time, but was going to use one of the pics I took on my LOTR tours as a ref. Maybe I will get it done yet and post it.

Good ones everyone! Love the "ringtone to rule them all" That is hilarious!

[Tolkien Geek] **clears throat** Actually, the First Age of the Sun didn't get as far as 2004, it ended on 601... So, it's been 2004 twice, but in the Second and Third Ages [/Tolkien geek]

Here's my contribution, 2 hours/Photoshop/Wacom.

I'm not much of a LOTR-fan which this topic is probably about if I got it right, so I made my own vision of Middle Earth 2004 (which by the way I have no clue what it means :))

Wacom, 2h, PhotoShop. I liked this topic anyway.

PS + Wacom, 5 hrs (or wayyyyy too long  ).

I don't mind this one, too much. The character turned out pretty well since I was putting effort into him and such. I just got bored with the background and wanted to get it done because I'm really tired (..it's 6am)!

I was kind of equating the use of the ring with the use of drugs since the addiction to the power of the ring seems like it would be like crack or something :p The picture just reminds me very much of... many people I knew. Except minus the ring.... I just figure that in 2004, even Middle Earth would have a drug problem. Of sorts.

Hi there!

My first dailysketch post here. What doesn't mean that I don't sketch daily
But on LOTR topics I just have to post!

This my version of a moody Good-vs-bad-thingy.
It took me about 3 hours (I'm not that fast yet ;) ) in Photoshop CS using my Wacom Intuos A4:
