Don't forget that everything is animateable... including the opacity on materials. There's about a million different ways to do what you're talking about though. Just experiment :D

use video post.

render the frames.

create the text in photoshop. import that into video post and use transition to rendered frames.

if you have access to After Effects, Premiere or similar program you could do it that way with a little more control.

You're right. I am going to just make the text opacity to the max.
