View Full Version : Grokky alien turntable
This is a character that will interact with an alien of different kind... in the link there is a short turntable animation test. The textures in the animation are slightly different from those of the image, cause I optimized them for rendering several frames.
C&C welcome, thanks.http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

That's a fun looking character. It reminds of the old 80's movie The Explorers. I like the eye, but I don't know how I feel about the white of the eye being so yellow. Maybe it's just the lighting, but it's really minor regardless. Good work.

Cool stuff you got there.
The yellow of the eye is very out of place. It realy stick the blue out.
I have a feeling it's missing details...

I've liked this character since when I first saw the still. This animation is superb. My only complaint would be the apparent lack of an iris texture.
I love the way this guy walks. Is he a vegeterian, carnivore, or omnivore? Looks like he'd be well suited for a vegeterian life.
Thanks for answering.
HeadCheese, yes, this is made with Blender (as almost all of my 3d works).
Corduroy Squirrel, true, I've seen Explorers and I remind the aliens. Probably they had a big influence on this character.
Hey gabio, mmm... I'll see to change the yellow of the eye, but not sure about this.
paroneayea, he's an omnivore, but he likes expecially alien strawberry-like fruits. Actually the iris has a texture, but it's barely visible. I'll try to improve this.

Nice work! But it looks like he doesn't have a knee joint? You seem to make do without one. Great job.
