View Full Version : Hope not OT: Realflow fluid in Maya Anim
jwmoebius 12-17-2004, 09:11 AM Hello, I have an animated Scene from Maya with a bottle that moves around and I want to fill this bottle with a beverage. In a previous thread of mine someone suggested realflow which I am trying right now. I am a bit stuck on the workflow though. Do I need to import the scene into realflow to include the particles? If so, how do I do that? I found the .sd format but it doesn't seem to do that much (I exported a simple scene from maya as .sd and imported it in realflow and nothing showed up). The tutorials on the nextlimit site all assume you know this stuff so I ask here ... also I'm not very patient I guess ... any help would be appreciated!

Cool, Thanks! I just figured that out a minute ago ... my next problem is that the keyframed animation isn't included in the .sd file, did I do something wrong or do I have to animate in realflow? That would be pretty bad because I keyframed it in Maya to match a video ...
Thanks,

It shoulkd wark, because when zou export model it runs through frames baking out animation, ceheck out export properties what zopuuu have checked.
And zeah, when zou inport scene to RF it asks you if you want to inport animation. Click yes there :).

Thanks! My animation curve kinda got lost when I converted the bottle to Poly so that's what went wrong. I think I got it now ...
