View Full Version : exporting in dvd format
Antonio79 12-17-2004, 03:46 AM Hello! I made in maya my whole animation rendered at 24 FPS (as a targa sequence) and I edited it in After Effects and saved it as a not compressed avi, I imported the AVI in pinnacle studio because I wanted to edit it with other videos but above all I wanted to export everything in a dvd format, pinnacle can burn directly the video on a dvd in svcd or dvd format, and I did it, the problem is that my original video is 24 fps and pinnacle burn the dvd only (I don't know if there is a way to change this) at 25 fps, so every second the animation is like stopping for a frame. So I was wondering... is there a way to export in dvd format (or svcd) directly from AE? this way I could do it in 24 fps directly. I know I can render everything again in 25 fps but it's a very long render so I would prefer not to do it! thank you, Antonio

I see that you are located in SF so I would imagine that you are working in NTSC so you should be working in 29.97 or 30 fps, 24fps is for film and it will look funny playing back on a DVD to television which is 29.97. I think Pinnacle must have put it out to 25fps because that is the frame rate for PAL and is the closest to what you were working in

yes actually I'm living in sf but I have just arrived from italy, so I'm still used to the european pal version :) pinnacle let me choose some standard like 25, 15, or 30 but not 24, anyway I will try to solve with another software, for now I will render a divx in after effect :) thanks
