View Full Version : Sub-d help please
I made a chair using Poly=>Sub-d. I went ahead and deformed the chair and noticed that the lattices stay with object. How do I get rid of lattices? They even rendered out when I added a bump map to chair.

Thanks -wT-,
I will try that.
I deleted history but nothing happened. The lattices are still there! Any other suggestions.
Hmmm, deleting history should fix this... maybe you deleted the wrong history? (Like the lattices history or something)
Maybe try the command to delete every objects history, and see if that works better.
Hey -wT-,
I tried deleting all object history, but that also did not work. Here is a pic on the chairs. Sorry it's a bad render but gives you an idea of what I am talking about. I am sure I'm doing something wrong. I do not have that much experience working with Sub-d's so this lattice thing is knew to me.
Anyway the items I circled should not be rendering. The chairs were designed to be fluid and ergonomic but when I render it out I get the block looking chair.
That's weird, maybe lattices work somehow differently with subdivision surfaces... I dunno, maybe someone else could help? I would try it out myself, but I'm currently rendering so can't use Maya for a while, sorry :hmm:

before rendering switch out of poly proxy mode and into hierarchy mode, if that doesn't work, show up and down stream connections in hypershade and make sure the proxy object is not associated with a shading group, if it is delete the connection.
Thanks -wT- and AAbel for your help, I'll keep you posted on any results I get from your info.:buttrock:
