Very good, the choped limb is really unrealistic, try decreasing the glow around the stump and add some sparks or smoke, very good overall!
Great subject. I love Star Wars.
I think you are using a little too much glossyness. This is why in my opinion the people look like they are posed plastic figures. If you take some of the glossyness off of the 'cloth' part of their clothing and a little off the skin you should get a softer, less plastic feel to the figures.
I also think the background needs less shine/glosyness. The texture on the big doors also seems to be scaled very large which allong with the plasticity of the people materials gives the scene a bit of a model feel i.e. it looks like it is at 1:100 scale or something.
For a first post this is great. Respect. I havn't posted anything yet and work and comuting is keeping me very busy.
Keep up the good work.

The lightsabers look a little short IMO.

Terkonn: Yeah, thatīs what i was just thinking to do. Tks man
LQ2: I love SW too, thatīs something a i always wanted to be part off... anyway, bout the glossyness... i wanted they to feel like this way because itīs suposed to be a little cartoonish... meybe a just put a little too much. Iīll try to modify it, to see how it looks like. Tks a lot!
brzilian: I tried to match the size of the lightsabers to the "real world" ones... looks like its somthing like 1 meter tall ( only the blade ). i think the handgrip may be a little short. iīll try to fix that.
Thank you all guys.

It is cool, I am a big StarWars fan myself. The only thing I would add to this is perhaps motion blur on the Jedi that is in mid air.
I know it is for a graphics novel, but I would love to see a animated version of these character...

It looks ok, one thing I find strange is that the guy's lightsaber is blurred but the girls is not. If I were her I'd be swinging my saber as fast as I could.
Is it sabre or saber?

great image! nice mix of the cartoony and realism. i think your textures are fine, but perhaps they are not unified enough in the bacground. You've got three strong textures on the walls and ciecling which don't flow together that well. Action looks very beleiveable! makes me want to watch the movies.
