I actually made a simple script that did this recently and It is a pain to do it by hand.
Just select your objects and run the script I have linked.

I guess it could all be put into a single procedure that could be called but it works fine the way it is right now :)

The SpreadSheet is designed for that purposes I guess.

I guess you can use the spreadsheet I had not thought of that or tried, but I got to learn some more mel anyway, by writing that script.

There are far better things to "learn" mel scripting on. What this shows is that you also need to spend some more time learning whats already in Maya. Don't re-invent the wheel.

No need to be stuck up about it, the basis of what I learned was creating arrays from selected objects and running commands on each object and I found that useful. It may not have a perfect application here, as I have found out, but it can prove useful elsewhere.

Jovsex may have a point....so I'm sorry about my snappy response. The point of my post is still valid, but I see that my delivery was a bit harsh. There is nothing that breaks my heart more than making things harder than they need to be.
