I just downloaded a freebie mesh in 3DS format and imported it into Cinema4D, but parts came out all screwy, strewn all over the place

Never had this problem before... I'm curious to know from anyone who does know, is there a new version of the 3DS format?

not that I'm aware of. Sounds like the person who did the file used scale on their objects. This can mess up a mesh by distorting it and basically making it go wonky.

If you need it exported for you just give me a holler.
