Title: Garbage Monster
Name: Samo Jereb
Country: Slovenia
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop
This image was done for a contest, in wich I had to create a monster that has rised from a tipped over garbage can.
I did the depth of field in Photoshop.
Thank you... :)

really nice modelling and textures, and great concept - the DOF is the only thing that bothers me-it seems to blur on the floor too suddenly, rather than a soft transition, and the top of the bin is a bit too blurry, I think. Otherwise, Love it!

Great idea, I love the character of the creature. It really is aparent you did the DOF in phoshop though, I would look into rendering the DOF or just getting rid of it. Also kitchens usually have very yellow cast from the lighting. Maybe you could do a more overhead diffuse lighting? Right now it seems very directional and un-kitchen like.
amazing character, keep it up!

Heh,... thank you for this thread... I realy didn't think of changin the color of the lights, but i guess its pretty damn important:)
Also all the critiques about dof are useful to me, so next time I'll put more effeort in it. This time it was done realy quickly, becouse i had only 10 minutes left to send the image to the contest after the render was done :))
More critiques welcome!
