View Full Version : Help! How do I create my own brushes? (Painter IX)
I'm trying to create my own brush variants using the brush creator but I don't see the buttons for saving or naming my own brushes and/or libraries. What are the steps?

Hi,
Read Painter IX Help > Help Topics, Contents tab, the chapter named Customizing Brushes.
That explains everything through creating custom brush variants, saving them (always give them a unique name not already used by Painter IX), and moving them into custom brush categories.. and how to create brush category icons and custom brush categories (again always give your custom brush categories unique names not already used by Painter IX).
To create a custom brush library, in your file manager, go to the following folder:
Corel > Corel Painter IX > Brushes
Create a new folder (your custom brush library folder) and give it a unique name not already used by Painter IX.
Then go to the brush library folder where you created your custom brush categories. Copy both the custom brush categories and their associated .JPG brush category icon image files and paste them into your new custom brush library folder. (Each custom brush category folder and its associated .JPG brush category icon image file will have the same name.)
Thank you very much, I had been searching through the help file before but somehow I couldn't find what I was looking for. Wasn't looking hard enough I guess. :) Thanks for your help.
