Hy
In our little studio we just finished an opening animation for animation festival.
It took us two days (two very long days, two people working on it) to do the visual part and a day later a friend made the sound.
You can see the short here(7mb):
www.zapstudio.net/animateka_en.mpg (http://www.zapstudio.net/animateka_en.mpg)

and as this does't work with quicktime for me, here is .mov version (15.5mb):
www.zapstudio.net/animateka_en.mov (http://www.zapstudio.net/animateka_en.mov)

It's 2d animation made with painter and aftereffects.
I'd like to get some opinions.
Thank you very much.

Hey it's pretty nice.

I don't really like the depth of field... or should I say the blur you put on some elements in the background. It kinda ruins the 2D/ink feel to it. Maybe if you had just made the background images grey, in stead of bluring them it would have worked better with the overall style.

we were considering this option too, but we liked the blur better. Couse the grey version ruins the black & white stile, which was more important to us.
Thank you for your comment.

In case anyone is intereste we have some other work on our site:
