For a project on another site. 3500 tri limit. Aiming to have the horse @1k'ish and 2.5k for cowgirl. Horse started, I really like the hydraulics but they eat quite alot of polys. Crits on how the mesh will animate would be much apprecaited.http://img41.exs.cx/img41/3816/legs0od.jpg

Looking good so far although you've already gone over your 1K poly limit for the horse and I think it really needs some more detail on the head. Do you have any concept art for the cowgirl? Also which site is the contest on?

Thanks BlackLight, the 1k limit was just a guide, if it goes a little over i'm not too bothered. I'm hoping to add more facial detail with the texture, as the head is going to be mech/robot based.

The challange is http://www.simplymaya.com

I'm working on concepts for the cowgirl at the moment. Will post as soon as they are finished.

A quick update. Heres a test sketch of the cowgirl. Detailing has been left out until I now how many polys I have left after blocking her in.

she looks alright but details aside, there's nothing really particularly 'space' about her basic design. just wondering on how you were planning on showing that. keep it up

Well i've been on a nice holiday over christmas to Germany but now i'm back and keen to get back into things.

Heres a update shot of the horse and the wip Cowgirl. She still needs alot of work adding more "character" details.I still need to optimise the mesh to keep the final total <3500 tri's.
