This is a work in progress peice for the lw forum challenge at renderosity, the task is to create a flying creature so im making a flying pig :) The pig is fully textured and built, next up is the wings and surrondings. I also tried to recreate the quality of lighting found in the likes of shrek and the pixar movies. I didnt use any GI or radiosity. software lightwave :)

The next image was created using a sss plugin just a peice of experimentaion, 2 hours to render using soft refraction. Im still having trouble understanding the plugin very confusing, i wanting to use it on my pig renders to give him a waxy skin effect but it just wouldnt render right! oh well enough chatting heres the image.

the quality of the lights and enviroment mood are
very good. i liked a lot of the soft shadow and the unusual
colors.

Yes that pig must fly. I really like that sss plugin render too.

The strange render makes it look like colored glass.
One good pig. Like it, except the eyes.

that*s a funny pig. good job. only the tail of it doesn*t circle like in reality.

I think the legs should be shorter and it would be good IMHO :)

awesome work nick . I bet that baby tastes brilliant , Mmmmm making my mouth water .

the lighting is pretty damn sweet , how long did the first 3 pics take to render.

Lighting is very good, but i think the neck should be shorter, or even cancel the neck. He looks a bit like "marsepein" (i dont know the englisch word for that, so you'll have to do with..ehh.. "marsepein". )

"Marsepein is a delicious sort of candy, often in the shape of commenly used objects or animals, and consumed on the holiday of Sinterklaas.":p :D

That looks like a pretty pissed-off pig! Nice lighting and textures. Once the animation's done maybe I'll finally get that car my mom promised me "when pigs fly"!

oddly human looking... good though, kinda creepy.
I think it would look even better with some muscle definition in the body. Also a hair plug to make the fur or whatever. Make it more realistic and more eerie.
