Coolrider64n 12-12-2004, 02:56 AM I'm modeling human head and am stuck on how to import a background picture into cinema 4D(yeah I know. Sad isnt it). The tutorial i'm using is not for the current verison and I cant find out how to import the picture. Thanks for the help in advance.

If you need a picture as a guide then just make a new material and in the colour channel load the image you want. Then make a plane (Object->Primitive->Plane) and apply the material to it. Postion the plane so you can see it from the perspective you are working from. Also helps if you make the plane the same proportions as your image (eg if your image is 800x600 make the plane 400m x 300m etc).
If you want a background to the render then go Objects->Scene->Background and apply the material to that.

Also be aware that you can't add a background image to a perspective viewport. Use a plane in that case.

k. One last question. How do I go about moving the points on the picture. I mean is there some way your suposed to start so you dont screw up? Or just keep trying untel you get it right? I run out of polygons. Check picture below.

EDITED:Nevermind. I figured it out. Dark parts means it gets pulled from another part of the block/face.
