hi all, im reposting this because it got lost when cgtalk had a few problems..

what i would like to do ( if at all possible ) is export an animation from maya/or any app using sequential odj/3ds files ( one file per frame ), and then somhow find a way to import the animation into 3dsmax.

the only thing i have found on the net is this script

http://www.scriptspot.com/scripts/M...a/3dsimport.zip

which does what i want, but i could not get it working (its for max3 im using 4 ) , nor could i contact the guy who wrote it.
Its a very small script, so i was wondering if somone could take the time to look at is and recompile it to work with max4 for me...

thanks

Think I've found it... just test the link, is it THIS ONE (http://www.scriptspot.com/scripts/MondoMedia/3dsimport.zip)

I just tried the script - it worked fine!

These are the steps I took (see if anything is different)...

1.Copied the 3dsimport.ms and logo.bmp files to my 3dsmax/scripts/ directory
2.Went to MAXScript (under the utilities panel)
3.Selected "Run Script"
4.Chose the 3dsimport.ms
5.Then hit the import button!

Only thing that I can see that might cause a problem is that your sequence has to be "nameXXX.3ds" Where name is of course whatever you like and XXX is the number in the sequence.

Hope this helps!
