Hi everyone...I'm new to maya. I'm trying to create some animations for a game that i am working on...but my limited knowledge has got me stuck.

What I'm trying to do is model a scene from indiana jones...but with a cartoon'y shader (tom cat). All good so far..but i need to include some moss and grass to fit in the gaps in the stones and on the floor. I tried to use the paint effects to do this...but i can't get them to look cartoon'y.....any help or suggestions would be much appreciated...but please bear in mind i'm new to this, so i might need a simple explanation.

Here's some pictures which will probably explain a lot better than me rambling on....

If you're using Maya 6 you could have 2 solutions ( not sure about one of them... )

First, you can convert your PaintFx strokes to polygons and then consider it as simple polygonal object...

Or another one but i'm not sure about pipeline flexibility and working time you're going to spend... but you could render it in layers, let the grass as Pfx strokes and render them with Vector Render in a separate layer(as iff file not swf ) and render all your environnement with your tomcat shaders...

You should try both, hope it helps u !
