View Full Version : Exclude certain lights from surface?
leigh 08-30-2002, 12:22 AM Umm... is there any way besides using the BRDF shader that allows you specify which lights affect a surface?
I can't use the object light exclusion properties because I cannot put this particular surface on it's own layer.
Help!

Maybe there is a way other than straightforward exclusion --
What are you trying to accomplish?

just a thought, may or may not work.
copy the same object to another layer, now you have 2 layers of the same object, in layer 1 set all the surface except the one you want to exclude from light 100% transparent. In layer 2 do the opposite.
now just exlude layer one from light.
as I said, this may or may not work as you have 2 overlapping object, and sometime transperency still show up in render.
