This is my first map that is completely made by me. Everything you see in this map has been completely made by me using a combination of 3ds Max, Softimage XSI and Photoshop. The only things I have used from Epic are the default Onslaught items such as the vehicles, weapon lockers, and jump pads. The rest is all me.

I don't have the Game :shrug:
and ur screenshots looks a lil to small

but from here, I will say that the landscape is a lil poor not enough detail and not enough items.

But I can't really say it i don't see a ingame view. :sad:

From screens I can tell it has a good mood. But is it playable? :)

Hey waz.
I downloaded the map and put all the files in the required ut2004 folders, yet am unable to host a game to test with it. I cannot open it in unreal editor either. I dont think the problem is on my end.

SneakyBiscuit - Do you have the latest patch 3339 installed? As well as the ECE Bonus Pack with the new vehicles? Those 2 migh solve your prblem. If not let me know.

ChrisF. - Well until you get the game you will never know :) But your right there isn't a lot of added items on the landscape to help with framerate issues. I used everytrick in the book to help get good frame rates for the map but this isn't Far Cry, UT isn't a engine for 500 trees and millions of blades of grass. It is all a balance of graphic goodness and playability.

good luck trying to pimp a game map at cgtalk :P
no mather how good the map is you post here on cg talk it will be viewed as random crap :)

the map is ok however your custom content has some problems, the meshes are completely smoothed, no hard edges left and this sometimes it not exactly "pretty"
your textures are sometimes also really low res + detail textures would help

your terrain is ok, sometimes a few hard and spikey edges and too steep edges but it could be worse, the detail level too tho more detail on the terrain is possible, retail ONS maps their detail level isnt up to the standards anymore so dont compare to that
you also need some lighting highlights, like lamps around, your excisting lamps need an unlit lamp + coronas + affect surrounding geometry more because they dont feel like they cast light right now
your water doesnt really feel like water, and its a too harsh contrast
some of your building/object materials are really white vs the dark terrain tex, be careful not to kill the harmony

the bsp tunnel shoulda been mesh, no soft edges now :/
the broken railroad stuff is cool but make sure you dont see a to obvious texture repeating on the wooden beams :)


its good you make custom content instead of prefabs, keep at it but use some smoothing groups next time :)

excellent map Waz :)

i especially like this map because it's different from the usual UT2K4 maps - UT2K4 is a spectacle, but a little monotonous...
