Title: The Hoplite - Winter Storm
Name: Jacques Martel
Country: France
Software: LightWave 3D, Painter, Photoshop, Poser

The Hoplite (the death),is the best companion of the warrior. He decide of the victory or the defeat of the soldier.

This is an image extract form a personnal project wich name is "The Hoplite - The Tireless Warrior"

I have been strucked by "Jason and the Argonauts" movie when I was a child. And it can explain my inspiration.

The main character pose has been done in Poser 3, and imported in lightwave.
Render has been done in Lightwave 8.0.1
Post-production has been done in Painter 5.5 and Photoshop.

Remarks and comments are welcome.

Hey great stuff! I was amazed by Tippits work in that aswell.
I like the composition and the gradual depth of field.

The one thing that I noticed is the heavy rain and yet none on the subject.

great stuff really enjoyed your post

I love this image. My favourite part is the shield. But why is he attacking alone. Looks like the other skeleton warriors are just standing ther swinging with their spears.
You could also show who the defenders are. Humans? Or other skeleton warriors?

Hmmm...looks a triffle underfed.

Great image. I must echo rhyce's comment that although the rain is fierce there is no sign of water driping off shield, helm etc.

Good sense of motion. Looking forward to seeing more.

Welcome to the forum BTW : )

to Profg : The hoplite attacking alone because I wanted to show the begining of the attack. But with your remark, i'm now thinking of an image with an "mass" attack.

to rhyce & zukum : you are dammed right for the rain and the main charcter. As soon I will have some time, I will add some dripping water.

Thanks for your comments.
