View Full Version : wacom and 1 second pause
rob-beddall 12-08-2004, 12:58 PM hey!!
i seem to be having a problem with photoshop 7 and my wacom graphire 3 tablet.
every time i touch the nib to the canvas there is a short pause before the pen will actually start drawing. so i end up with long straight lines at the start of all my strokes. it never pauses as long as the pen is on the tablet, only when i start a new stroke.
any idea what is causing this? and how i can fix it?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers!!

Could try updating the drivers. Are you Mac or PC?
If you have a USB mouse or other device, it may interfere with the Wacom, as well.

I used to have that very same problem, and never found a solution. Tried updating drivers, reinstalling PS with no results - after I switched to CS it's all gone away, however.
I did notice some things, though. The problem tended to occur whenever I was running an app that was 'always on top' (usually winamp, it didn't actually have to be showing, just being in the system tray would be enough) - but didn't do so all the time, it was very frustrating. So I'd suggest stripping out everything you don't need to see if that makes any difference - I don't have high hopes though.
Did you check Wacom's own forums? They're quite helpful and quick to respond.
all the best

hey!!
thanks for the replies.
managed to find out what it was.
it has something to do with the double-click length setting.
but cheers anyway.
ta!
Update your drivers then fiddle with double click length / assist features.
