Hi all I am tryng to create a navbar in photoshop where the links glow in on hover and fade out on mouse out like the navbar links I found on this site here http://www.bleached.com/main_index.asp Could anyone share some tips on the easiest way to create this type of effect in photoshop.

I would then think that I would export the layers over to image ready and add (sorry for incorrect term) some tween in between the fade effect to get the smooth transition and save as a gif file slice and use inside of dreamweaver.

I know tools and terms inside of photoshop pretty well so feel free to explain . I know the link to the site above is done in flash but I have no skill in flash as of yet.

Also what size type should I use for a navbar created in photoshop
Any help or pointing to a tutorial would be great

the stuff on that site is using Flash, actually. it's just a blue text and a black text that they fade between, no glow there at all.

but! if you wanna do glow in photoshop, the easy and often best way to go about it using layer styles. just go layer / layer styles / outer glow - but don't use the standard settings =)

Hello Plaf thanx for the reply. I found a extension for dreamweaver that does the same effect so I guess I took the easy way out but I understand what the code does so it works out. thanx again for the reply

you can do something similar in imageready. you need to make the 3 button states. which are: off / hover / click. then you need create the roll-overs by selecting/ making visible the layer for each state. and you would designate the handler for each one in the create rollovers palette. check out the image ready help/tutorial file. it can explain it better than i can, without me having to write a whole tutorial. if you still need help let me know and i will see what i can do for you.
