Is there a way to bring in influence shapes from Maya? When I tried it told me that there was an object that was not part of the skeleton and would not be used. I'd love to have my character flex muscles and fat, but it doesn't translate. I could probably do all of my animation and then bring it back in to Maya to render with the influence shapes there, but would still love to see what the finished product looked like without have to bring it back in for every shot.

i guess itīs not working. the most special options from any 3d app isnīt supported by mb (constraints etc.)
just take a closer look into the limitation document of the fbx-plugins.
so you have to check the final anim WITH influence objects in maya.

Maybe, it would be a good idea for Alias to get involved, seeing as how they own it and all, and help with the translation types. It could make MB so much more powerful.

Being serious for a second, there are so many things I can do for rigging in Maya (i.e., influence shapes, constraints, bone driven blend shapes, joint restrictions) that are translatable in to MB, which means I have to animate without actually seeing the final outcome and then translate it back in to Maya. And if it isn't exacly right, try to fix it in Maya or translate it back and forth again. I'm trying to figure out if that's "real time" or not.
