View Full Version : Rotating Character Rig, with model, Maya
AvixCore 12-06-2004, 09:59 PM I'm trying to rotate a character I've made. When I rotate the controller for the pelvis along with all other pole vectors, etc, what I should do.. the feet go weird and things don't work.
I basically, want my character to step forward about 2 steps, then make a left 90 degree turn.
How do you do that?

That's my rig. Thanks

I think you mean the roll you get when rotating the reverse foot locator, if you want to keep the foot flat then point and orient constrain the left_leg_handle group to the locator which your left reverse foot skeleton is parented under (and the same fo the right side) this keeps the foot flat, you might also want to get rid of the the pole vector constraints and use the twist attribute of the main leg IK handle (you could add a set driven key attribute to the foot contoller)
hope this helps!

Hello!
I think you should create a full controller.
On the ground, create un controller named fullCtrl. Then, select all the controllers and parent them to your fullCtrl. Now, select your polyshape6 and drag it out of your new group (fullCtrl).
(If it stay in the group, you'll have a double translation.)
I hope my explanation is clear.
Good luck. :)
