it's really working with that darkend corners as if you were looking trough some leafs... I like the grasshopper to the right. The one to the left, maby has too simple shapes..
Otherwise great job

Awsome! Just as nice as you're previous work (I had it on my Desktop for weeks ) Nice atmoshpere, cool lighting, funny and nice to look at and quite underwatery. That's what I like about your work, it appears to be underwater, it is not, but it looks like it. :D

Hi Xiao Yi.
Sorry I don't quite understand what you're saying. Is this a 3D rendered piece? If it is, can we please move it into the 3D forum?
Thanks!

This is a wonderful piece of work. I love the mood that it evokes. Two little bugs rejoicing in a pool of light, surrounded by darkness. But the darkness doesn't seem intimidating at all, and the bugs don't seem to mind it either. I like it. Nice value contrast, and very good character design.
My only two criticisms are that one of the arms on the yellow bug is hard to read. It seems to be a framing problem that is easily corrected.
Also, the lighting seems to be coming from everywhere at points in the painting. I know the light is supposed to be coming from above and behind by a little, but the lighting on the characters doesn't always seem to reflect that strongly. A better sense of light direction could help the piece.
Both of these crits are minor, overall excellent piece of work.
Stunning work! Love it!

Great work, but I must say I like On the Way a bit more ( it's still my desktop background ). It somehow looks more magical, with more depth and volume. Not that this one is at all bad in any way of course :)

xiao, absolutely excellent image here. Everything about it, the lighting, the vegitation, the mood drawn by both the characters and the light! Very very very good.
Is there a story that is narrating these images? If so, I'm sure it would be of interest.
