CGTalk - Playblast Horror

Last night my playblast stopped working and I recieved this message in my command feedback:

Error: invalid compression type

I opened my script editor and saw this message:

// Error: could not link to movie library //

Has anyone had this problem? I know it is not the problem that you fix by changing maya compatiblity to Windows2k. I reinstalled Maya 6 and Windows Media Player and this has not worked. I also deleted Maya preferences. Please let me know. Thanks.

If you're trying to redo a playblast, meaning you've succesfully done a playblast before, and maya won't let you with those messages... try deleting all previous playblasts from the folder you're trying to save your pb's to. For some reason, after some error, maya can't overwrite over the old one. Hope this helps.

Try deleting old pb's. Maya can't overwrite over old ones, or rename new one. Hope this helps. Dunno why it does this sometimes.
