the situation:

1. a bar finds itself in the arms of the jacket.
2. jacket gets animated and falls on a "imaginary" bar below the real one
3. what have i forgotten?

- at frame 0 the vest is in place, at frame 1 it's already below the bar:shrug:

well, i can't download the movie for some reason or other, but it seems to be the same simptoms i've exprienced with simcloth too... its outstandingly annoying, i know, & i couldn't find a real solution to it, except changing the objects' (in ur case, the jackets) pivot point to the exact oposite vector of the one it moves to when it starts to calculating...

You should reset your pivot point before any simcloth calculation, it tells you that in the manuals. Failing that try increasing the minimum samples setting, if your collision object moves too far during one subsample simcloth will miss the collision.

Dunno if that's of any help, I couldn't see the AVI either and your description was a bit vague.

for those that had the same problem

even if your object Pivot point is nicely in the middle of the object, select RESET XFORM, place the gizmo cross in the middle of the object and it will work!
