View Full Version : How to model the water in the bottle?
michaeli 08-29-2002, 08:37 AM I have modeled a bottle, then I use boolean operation to boolean an cube with the bottle to make the water in the bottle, but the result is so bad. Can you give me an advice on how to model the water in a box, which way can get best result? thanks.

LatheNURBS are usually best for the bottle and then a latheNURBS object within the bottle to act as the water!
Here is a really quick example. You will have to play with the reflection/refraction etc...settings to get a realistic glass or water.

Thank you. But if I use another way to model the bottle such as a cube extrude way, then how to model the water in it?

You would have to follow a similar route as the bottle! If you could post a pic of the scene it would help!

Okay, here is anoth quick example. After modelling a quick HN bottle I then copied the base object (cube) and scaled it so the bottom of the new bottle sat inside the old. Then I deleted all the inside points and those for the bottle neck etc...then I created a new poly for the top of the liquid! Obviously my example lacks any finesse!
