* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.

* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!

I was working on something which I thought could work as an animated gif. Not sure how applicable it is. There is no real battle in it as such.

have it bite the hand, then it will be a kind of battle...

lol, that's classic Goro :D and why did you have to dredge that one up again alice? oh, the humanity!

What programs have ppl been using to make these? I've never really tried to make an animated image before..

Cheers, V

Vit - I used Photoshop to draw my frames, it will allow you to create a .gif animation by doing a "save for web" and on that page, select file type of gif and you should get a checkbox you can select for animate. Then select how many second for each frame. You should have several frames in your file and it will animate them. You can also use Image Ready which usually comes with Photoshop.

Here's mine...PS/Wacom and Image Ready. Had 1 frame already, just made some changes and animated it, about 30 minutes or so.

Great stuff everyone.. this is mine - special thanks goes to Tuzz who hosted this :]
Used Photoshop to draw each of the flashing lights, and ImageReady to animate them, pretty simple.
About an hour and a half. I hate ImageReady - it has no smudge tool !!!

Wacom.... PS + ImageReady... 3.5 hours or so. Wow. I had no idea it was that hard to animate a gif.... I'm pretty content with my product, though.

Vitriolic, that's very very funny and also well done. Congratulations. You're surely winning this.

Goro, RobertoOrtiz really funny

Got, cool perspective... and big explosion :D

Sir Patroclo and FridayEve yours have a lot of feeling and style. Good work.

I like pixel art very much (if that's what it's called - graphics like those in 320x200 adventure games) and I'll try some of that. If I finish something it I'll post it here later.

That's great that you guys are getting to go home for the holidays. My son, his wife and kids are living in the United Arab Emirates right now - but they are coming home to visit for the holidays, and I'm SO EXCITED! I can hardly wait to see them. They get in on 12/20 and will be here till 1/2.

Roberto - go ahead and let your mom fatten you up some. WE mom people just LIVE for that kind of thing, you know! :) Where is "home" for you anyway?
