"Here is a teaser (http://www.ginuz.it/mammukpage.html) for Bruno Bozzetto's feature project Mammuk. The status of this project is still unknown: the pilot was presented at the Cartoons on the Bay festival in Positano in 2002, but so far RAI Cinema has not committed to the production yet. Let's hope this movie can find its way to the silver screen."

I love Bozzetto's stuff. I remember seeing "Allegro Non Troppo" and thinking what a unique style Bozzetto brings to animation. The live action stuff was funny, but the animated sequences were really original and quite trippy. His designs might not fit the Disney mold, but IMO his characters have an appeal and charm all their own.

This new film looks pretty interesting. Glad to see that production values in Italy have gone way up since "Allegro Non Troppo." I like how they incorporated the 3D elements with the 2D. The backgrounds are richly detailed and I'm glad to see Bozzetto's character designs are still recognizable. The Mammoth is especially appealling. Any word on if and when this film is coming to the US?
