I think she's way off target on most counts, however, especially the pricepoint/proprietary standards issue.

If softare companies lowered their prices down below $1000 universally I don't think they'd increase their market share all that much. There are too few people interested in 3D. Poser has the largest installed base of any 3D Software, and it's still less than half a million. This is a miniscule market.
