My very 1st low poly model, did it just for fun.
I'm quite done with it, But still any comments are welcomed as I'll definitely be doing more low-poly stuffs in the future. :) The "skirts" were posed using clothFX.

modeled in LW, polycount of 4356 tris, texture size of 1024x1024

Its not bad at all dude, its just that it has become so normal to see good models that they dont stand out. You need an absolutely great model to get responses in here.....or a really bad one to get critiques, thats how it works. I think your samurai is ok

Model - needs some extra attention - too many parts stayed too cylindrical. the legs are too short. The extra detail on the shoulder straps doesn't show at all on the texture model, you could use those polys to help make the hands looks better, etc. In general, the visible detail < expected for that polycount.

Texture - Very plain, almost bare, especially given the subject matter, and the huge amount of detail present in traditional samurai armor. Needs lots and lots of work.

Thanks for the comments :)

Adam - exactly the critiques I'm looking for :D I'd tell you that this was a rush job but that'll be an excuse. I'll be working more on the aspects you've mentioned, but for another model on my list of models-to-do.

To be honest, after working so much with hi-res models I'd never imagine low-poly to be so difficult to master :) Ah well, learning something new everyday :D
