That is very nice. I like the subject matter Wings are a bitch to draw. I checked out your website. Very impressive sketches DO NOT let that talent go to waste. You should try some concept work. If you do not already know about it here is a link to a great concept design forum. Lately there has been crap posted like all the forums seem to be slowly going to hell all at once. Anyway I would just love to see some concept art come from that talented mind of yours. -Jeremy- Link>> www.conceptdesignforum.com

That is because there is not much to crit... it looks great.
Don't give up, post some more work and have fun doing it. Always paint&draw for your own pleasure. Not someone elses.

And you don't want to know how little reactions I had with my first postings ;)

yes jeroentje is damn right...how about crit something where nothing is to crit about!
your drawings are such awesome that i please you to fight for time to draw...you are such talented! (i wish to draw like you...but i'm not very good in drawing especially in drawing humans!)
and the second image is just unbelievable!
the pose is realistic and the face, the bodey everything looks like real!
(o.k. you see the pencil lines,but ....)
::
::
please go on!
it's motivating to start drawing by myself,as the whole forum is!
we need people like you to see were are our mistakes and how it has to look like and i think everybody, including myself looks at such drawings as a lesson!
so keep it up!

The drawing of the girl with the long hair is one of the best things I've ever seen. It's perfect if you ask me. The angel is awsome too, but it looks like there's some perspective distortion on her face. It looks like it's being a bit distorted. You're stuff is definatly awsome and you should quit your job and draw all day :)

jeroentje is right ... kinda hard to critique when they're this good. I looked at the images several times now to see if I could find something to mention. I think I got a couple now. :D

The first image is actually my favorite of the two. It seems I'm going against the norm here so far. But, the second one is just a naked chick pic. The first one has the wings and dress designs added which make the woman more interesting to look at (maybe that's a sign of me having seen too many naked normal chicks).

I think if you want to get into concept work you'll need to do more of this type of stuff. I mean, you're a good artist but what's going to make you stand out among the many other good artists who can draw figures is your creativity and design. Because it's easy to concept a naked girl ... a little more difficult to concept a naked girl with wings, talons, mecha limbs, fantasy apparrel, etc. And it's even more difficult to concept this way and make yours more interesting than the other guy's mecha-fantasy chick. Know what I mean?

I strongly recommend you continue to draw anytime you are able. You're good ... don't let that skill lay dormant. Even if you don't find the job you're looking for, I believe that traditional drawing skills really enhance 3D modelling abilities.

Now ... the critique :)

The first image is my favorite, which I said, but there are a few minor problems with the face that E.Z. Schwartz already pointed out. I think the neck is also a bit long or at the wrong angle for the body. It looks straight when I think it should actually be positioned with an arc. The neck can flex somewhat like a garden hose and I don't think you're showing this in the picture. The other thing that's going to be noticed by someone looking at this in your portfolio is the lack of hands and feet. You indicate one of the hands under the dress, but there's not enough there to convince anyone that you can draw them. I usually try to avoid images like this. Even if you only put in 1 of the 4 appendages, this would probably eliminate any suspicions.

The second image is almost B&W photo good. The hair, face and torso look perfect! Not much to change there to make it any better. The arms seem a little wierd, but that maybe do to the angle at which she's holding them. I dunno ... I'd have to see a live model hold that pose to give any accuracy critiques. The hands look like the weakest part of the image. Her left hand seems rotated too much. I tried to pose my hand that way on my chest and I think I hurt something in my elbow.

Her right hand is really off though. By looking at the knuckles on that hand from pinky to middle finger you can see that the hand is positioned so that we see the top part of the hand. However the thumb is positioned so far to the left (check distance between end of thumb to end of pinky finger) that I wondered at first if I wasn't looking at her collar bone through her hair.

But, like I said ... they are good images and you should definately continue drawing if only to enhance your 3D skills and have a bit of fun. If you're serious about the concept work, you'll have to do more than just naked women. You'll have to actually design costumes, props, equiptment and settings. Let's see some of that work if you have them done already.

(listen to me ... I sound like I know what I'm talking about. hehehe).

Anyway, keep them coming! I want to see other stuff you have done.

wow kirt...interesting things you posted!
some points i didn't see at firtst look, but now...

as for the concept art thing..
yes i think it's very hard to get a feet in this scene, cause there are many good artisits, so you have to show something different or something that is just good...means think about some concepts and realise them from every detail, excample?
o.k. i'll work as a car designer in the future (it's my plan, but if it come true, only god knows...;-))so i deal with some car design concepts in 2d and 3d i try to make them much as realistic as possible!

I cannot help myself but to once again reply. You have the skills for sure. Your art is amazing I love your sketches they show definite care and they are "Art"which is hard to find lately. After watching "O Brother where art thou" I have begun to develop somewhat of a new respect for film. Through light of recent events in my life I have derived new meaning from the film.
I do not wish to create something that will sell (although I do hope it will) I wish to create something that will inspire others, tell an important story, and help to re-assemble the arts. I am only attempting to create art.... you create art. Do not lose this. Make characters that we can laugh and cry and care for. You will succeed, just put your all into it. Love and Positive hopes for you brother good luck and I hope to see more of your inspirational works -Jeremy-

i've to finish my post ...(couldn't finish in the morning, cause i've to get the bus to work!...other story ;-))

but what i want to say is that you just keep the aim of conceptartist in mind and try to do everything that deals with it!
and by presenting your concepts to the forum...don't wait for some congratz,(they will come but you can also have people who don't like your concept... don't wait for comments!)
use this forum to stand after your concept in any case, of course take advises, but don't create your concepts only for money or something else!
create them to express your wishes, thoughts your dreams, your feelings!
i did so when i create my car concepts and often they are not realistic, but i feelt to create them in this moment.........
i know that you know what i mean!!!

ups...my post is very simmilar to roach's...don't want to repeat....
but i must say this ;-)
