seems like it could be done pretty easily with a projection texture, or by just planar mapping the piece of geometry that the logo would go on... it depends on the the part of the car that the logo goes on really... is it relatively flat?

Dont have a tutorial handy but I do this frequently and the way i do it is to set up a second map channel using a simple planar map for the decal (on the bonnet or side of the car, or anywhere you need it). To do this select the faces you wnat the decal to be mapped to, open the UV-Centric relationship editor, in the edit menu goto create uv set>planar mapping (selecting the box so you can choose the appropriate axis), enter a name. Almost there! apply your shader to the faces (whilst in the decal mapping channel) then simply connect the uv set to the right texture in the UV-Centric relationship editor. Er I may have made this sound horribly complicated, if you want some screengrabs or tips PM me.
Cheers
Gordon.
